Summary
Based loosely on the notorious Stalker case of 1982, involving a British officer who discovered a massive government cover up, HIDDEN AGENDA begins when Kerrigan, the Stalker-like protagonist, travels to Belfast to investigate the killing of an American lawyer who is also an IRA sympathizer. He discovers the murder was committed by the Royal Ulster Constabulary and exposes the cover up. His follow up investigation is curtailed when it leads to the discovery of a massive web of conspiracy, involving some of the most powerful and respected individuals in the British establishment, Margaret Thatcher among them. Director Ken Loach has created a radical political thriller which tackles an issue the British government would prefer to keep under wraps. With Frances McDormand, Brad Dourif, and Brian Cox
